Abstract
Aim: This research was carried out descriptively to determine the risk level and healthy lifestyle behaviors of nursing students in terms of diabetes development. Material and Methods: The research population consisted of 392 students studying at the Faculty of Nursing of a public university in Istanbul, and 353 students who agreed to participate in the research. The Information Form, Type 2 Diabetes Risk Assessment Form- FINDRISC and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-II (HLBS-II) were used to collect the data. Chi-square test, t test in independent groups, One-way ANOVA and pearson correlation analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: The average age of the individuals participating in the study is 19.95±1.71 years, and 80.5% (n=284) of the women and body mass index (BMI) average is 21.94 kg/m2. 63.2% of the individuals participating in the study are low-risk in terms of diabetes, 29.5% of them are mildly risky, and the total score average of HLBS-II is 128.07±17.67. When the sub-dimension scores of the scale were examined, it was found that the highest average score was obtained from spiritual development (26.12±4.31), and the lowest average score was obtained from physical activity (17.30±4.62). In our study, it was found that those who exercised had a low risk of diabetes and had a mean total score of HLBS -II (t=0.746, p
Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin diyabet gelişimi açısından risk düzeyinin ve sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapıldı. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Araştırma evrenini İstanbul ilinde bulunan bir devlet üniversitesinin Hemşirelik Fakültesinde öğrenimine devam eden 392 öğrenci, örneklemi ise araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 353 öğrenci oluşturdu. Verilerin toplanmasında Katılımcı Bilgi Formu, Tip 2 Diyabet Risk Değerlendirme Formu-FINDRISK ve Sağlıklı Yaşam Biçimi Davranışları Ölçeği-II (SYBDÖ-II) kullanıldı. Verilerinin değerlendirilmesinde Ki-kare testi, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, One-way ANOVA ve pearson korelasyon analizi uygulandı. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan bireylerin yaş ortalaması 19,95±1,71 yıl, %80,5’i (n=284) kadın ve beden kütle indeksi ortalaması 21,94 kg/m2’dir. Çalışmaya katılan bireylerin %63,2’si diyabet yönünden düşük riskli, %29,5’i hafif risklidir ve SYBDÖ-II toplam puan ortalaması 128,07±17,67’dir.
