Abstract
Wheat is one of the most important cultivated plants in Turkey. Its main pest is Sunn pest, Eurygaster integriceps Puton (Hemiptera: Scutelleridae). In this study, the mortality caused to Sunn pest adults by isolates of three entomopathogenic nematode (EPN) species from Turkey, namely Steinernema feltiae (Filipjev, 1934) (Yalova isolate), S. carpocapsae (Weiser, 1955) (Sakarya isolate) (Nematoda: Heterorhabditidae), and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (Poinar, 1975) (Sakarya isolate) (Nematoda: Steinernematidae), was determined at two application doses (500-1000 IJs/adult) and 25 oC under laboratory conditions. The highest recorded mortalities were 100%, 100% and 92% for S. carpocapsae, S. feltiae and H. bacteriophora, respectively, at 1000 IJs dosage and 7 days after application. These results showed that the EPN strains used in the study have the potential to control Sunn pest but field studies would need to be done to determine their efficacy under a range of environmental conditions.
Bu çalışmada, üç yerel entomopatojen nematod (EPN) türünün [Steinernema feltiae (Filipjev, 1934) (Yalova), S. carpocapsae (Weiser, 1955) (Sakarya) (Nematoda: Heterorhabditidae) ve Heterorhabditis bacteriophora (Poinar, 1975) (Sakarya) (Nematoda: Steinernematidae)] iki uygulama dozunun (500-1000 IJs/ergin) 25 oC sıcaklıkta laboratuvar koşullarında Süne erginleri üzerinde meydana getirdikleri ölüm oranları belirlenmiştir.
