Abstract

It is not uncommon that a children presenting with intranasal foreign boy to emergency departments and ear nose throat clinics. These foreign bodies are usually located accidentally and rarely by inhalation. This is a situation that requires urgent intervention. General anesthesia is preferred for non-cooperative children with foreign bodies located in the posterior nasal cavity. Aspiration of the foreign body during the preparation of general anesthesia may occur and it may be resulted with respiratory obstruction may occur. The aim of this paper is to mention that Trendelenburg position can be preferred to minimize the bronchial aspiration risk during general anesthesia.

Özet

Acil servis ve kulak burun boğaz bölümü intranazal yabancı cisim olan çocuk hastalarla sık olarak karşılaşır. Bu yabancı cisimler nazal kaviteye çocuklar tarafından kazara yerleştirilmesiyle ya da nadiren inhalasyon yoluyla oluşur. Bu acil olarak tedavi edilmesi gereken bir durumdur. Koopere olamayan çocuklarda posterior nazal kavitede yerleşen yabancı cisimlerin çıkartılması için genel anestezi tercih edilir. Genel anestezi için hazırlanma evresinde yabancı cismin aspirasyonu sonucu respiratuvar tıkanıklık oluşabilir. Bu olgu sunumunun amacı, Trendelenburg pozisyonunun genel anestezi alacak hastalarda respiratuvar aspirasyon riskini azaltmak için kullanılabilir bir yöntem olduğunu göstermektir.
