Cultural pluralism in ıslam and coexistence

Abstract

The only important thing in cultural pluralism for Islam is to feel the same responsibility by all the different religions and cultures in the subjects related to social organism. In this cultural pluralism, all the members of the different cultures which institute the social organism involve in protecting the social organism and physical geography which social organism is in. Turks are the best representative of this cultural pluralism institution in Islamic civilization. Dialog between religions and cultures, the need for integration between assemblies are the characteristics of our age. It seems that cultural pluralism will be prevalent in the following ages. This demands a society structure in which everybody behaves respectfully to other’s belief and culture. The Islamic religion has been advising this society structure since XV Century, the formula “plurality, coexistence” exists in Islamic civilization. This formula is a character of a cultural pluralism has been applied successfully in the every phase of Islamic civilization beginning from asr-ı saadet until the end of the Ottoman Empire.
