Abstract
In this study the microorganisms determined to be the causative agents of nosocomial infections in SSK Ankara Training Hospital in one year period and their antimicrobial susceptibility patterns were evaluated. The most frequent infection places and recovery rates were as follows: urinary tract 45.9%, wound 31.7%, respiratory tract 9.9%, bacteremias 9.7%. Escherichia coli (20%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (17%), Staphylococcus aerus (13%) and Klebsiella spp. (13%) were the most frequent isolated microorganisms. However, vancomycin was the most effective agent against Gram positive microorganisms whereas imipenem and aminoglycosides were against Gram negative ones.
