Abstract

Objective: Genetically Modified (GM) products have been subject to a variety of controversies and conflicts in recent years both in the world and in Turkey. Today, the production and use of GM crops is increasing year by year and the discussions about these products are still going on. This study was conducted to determine the attitudes of the farmers in the Imamoglu in Adana province and village of Koçyurdu Osmaniye province according to the information and information about the genetically modified seeds. Methods: The sample was selected as 423 samples from Adana Imamoglu district and 297 samples from Osmaniye Koçyurdu village of the cross-sectional type. Amaç: Genetiği Değiştirilmiş (GD) ürünler sonyıllarda hem dünyada, hem de Türkiye’de çeşitlitartışmaları ve uyuşmazlıkları içinde barındıranbir konudur. Günümüzde GD ürünlerin üretimive kullanımı yıldan yıla artış göstermekte ve buürünlerle ilgili tartışmalar da hâlâ devam etmektedir.Bu çalışma, Adana İli İmamoğlu ilçesi ve Osmaniye İliKoçyurdu Köyünde bulunan çiftçilerin GD tohumlarhakkındaki bilgileri ve bilgilerine göre tutumlarınıbelirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Yöntem: Kesitsel tipteki çalışmaya, Adanaİmamoğlu İlçesinden 423, Osmaniye Koçyurduköyünden 297 kişi örneklem olarak seçilmiştir.Çalışmaya başlamadan önce etik kurul onayı veçalışmaya katılan kişilerden sözel onam alınmıştır.Çalışmadaki veriler 20 sorudan oluşan anket formuile toplanmıştır.
