Isolated orbital metastasis in a patient with breast cancer in remission

Abstract
A 38-year-old woman applied with complaints of left eye proptosis and diplopia at the 17th month of her visits for breast carcinoma during remission period. Orbital carcinoma metastasis was established by orbita biopsy. There was no other metastasis in computed tomography. By combined systemic chemotherapy and orbital radiotherapy, complete response was obtained. In the case of unique orbital breast carcinoma metastasis, the addition of systemic chemotherapy to orbital radiotherapy is recommended.

Remisyonda takip edilen meme kanseri olgusunda, sol gözde büyüme ve çift görme yakınmalarıyla yapılan incelemelerde, vücutta başka bir organa metastaz olmaksızın, sol orbitaya metastaz saptanmıştır. Orbitaya metastazlar sıklıkla beyin ve akciğer metastazlarına eşlik ederken, izole orbita metastazı bildirisine İngilizce literatürde rastlanamamıştır. Orbita metastazlarının tedavisinde lokal radyoterapi önerilmektedir. Bu tedaviye sistemik kemoterapi-hormonal tedavinin eklenmesinin, hastalıksız yaşam ve tüm yaşam süresine katkısının değerlendirilmesine ihtiyaç vardır.
