The features and problem areas of patients with cancer who applied to Hacettepe University Oncology Hospital Mental Health unit

Abstract
The aim of this study occur socio-demografic features and physical, emotional and social problems of cancer patients apply to Hacettepe Universty Oncology Hospital Mental Health Unit between 1998 and 2002. The data were collected through retrospective determinent research method by using interviewing reports. These reports consist of patients' features and problems from NANDA. According to study findings anxiety (64.7) is most frequent problem among cancer patients and ineffective personal coping with hopelessness (%57.8) follow-up anxiety. The patients with breast cancer apply mental health unit for emotional problem have more role performance change problem than other patients. Özet
Bu çalışma, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Onkoloji Hastanesi Ruh Sağlığı Birimine 1998-2002 yılları arasında başvuran 102 kanser hastasının sosyodemografik özellikleri ile fiziksel, duygusal ve sosyal sorunlarını belirlemek amacıyla retrospektif tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Veriler, hastalara ait özellikleri ve NANDA (North American Nursing Diagnosis Association) tanı listesinden yararlanılarak belirlenen sorun alanlarını içeren görüşme seans raporları incelenerek toplanmıştır. Araştırmada en sık rastlanan sorun anksiyete (%64.7) olup, bunu ikinci sırada etkisiz bireysel baş etme (%57.8) ve umutsuzluk (%57.8) takip etmektedir. Birime duygusal sorunlar nedeniyle başvurmuş ve tanısı meme kanseri olan hastalar, rol performanslarında değişimi diğer gruplara göre daha fazla yaşamaktadırlar.
