Process of Issuing Journal of Voice of Turkistan in Mehmet Emin Bugra’s Letters

Mehmet Emin Buğra’nın Mektuplarında Türkistan Sesi Dergisinin Çıkartılması Süreci

Abstract

Mehmet Emin Bugra is both an important scholar and a statesman who adopted to reach the case of East Turkistan to large circles as a principle and rule with his scholarly life after his migration to Turkey. In this context, being aware that publication was important for the purpose of reaching the case of East Turkistan to large circles, Bugra first issued the journal of ‘‘Turkistan’’ in 1954. Next, he decided to issue the journal ‘‘the Voice of Turkistan’’, which began to its publication life with Yusuf Alptekin and his friends’ support in July 1956 and which had to withdraw from the publication life due to financial troubles, political pressures that were applied by China, difficulties in finding articles, and Mehmet Emin Bugra’s health problems, after publishing 11 issues. In this article, we have mentioned appearance process of this journal based on the letters which were sended from Mehmet Emin Bugra to Isa Yusuf Alptekin as well as general features of the journal.

Özet

Mehmet Emin Buğra, Türkiye’ye göç ettikten sonra ilim hayatı ile Doğu Türkistandavasını geniş çevrelere ulaştırmayı düstur edinmiş hem önemli bir ilimadamı hem de devlet adamıdır. Doğu Türkistan davasını geniş çevrelere ulaştırmakmaksadıyla neşriyat hayatının önemli olduğunun farkında olan Buğra, ilkönce 1953 yılında “Türkistan” dergisini çıkarmıştır. Daha sonra ise İsa Yusuf Alptekinve arkadaşlarının da desteği ile “Türkistan Sesi” dergisini çıkartmaya kararvermiştir. Bu makalede derginin genel özelliklerinin yanı sıra Mehmet Emin Buğra’nınİsa Yusuf Alptekin’e gönderdiği mektuplarından hareketle bu derginin çıkışserüveninden bahsedilmektedir.
