Period of change in the heroes of Turkish tales to maturity through journey

Abstract

Symbolic language is the only universal language developed by the humankind, and is also the same to all cultures emerged within the stream of the history. Mythologies have maintained its strong influence in the modern times in the same way as of the ancient times and in symbols have exposed the thoughts and emotions shaped in the subconscious of the individuals belonged to their society. Symbolic language is a remarkable element in the tales, the leading oral culture artifacts. This significant genre which is the mirror of folk life expressed by the symbolic language, has arrived so far today by inherited from generation to generation for centuries. Heroes in these important expressions set off by leaving their home because of various reasons. The long-term and short-term migration of the heroes is the foreshadowing of their return with a new self. The journeys of the heroes in the tales lead to their spiritual growth. In this study, when hunting for the journey adventures of heroes in the tales, the phases they experienced in this period and the new identities of the heroes after the journey will be revealed. Additionally, the periods of maturity which share similarities with the identity journeys of the heroes in the tales will be emphasized.

Sembol dili, insanlığın geliştirdiği tek evrensel dildir ve tarihin akışı içinde oluşan tüm kültürler için aynıdır. Mitolojiler kadim zamanlardan itibaren modern zamanlar içinde de aynı güçte etkisini sürdürmüş, ait olduğu toplumdaki bireylerin bilinçaltında şekillenen düşünce ve duyguları simgeler hâlinde açığa çıkarmıştır. Sözlü kültür ürünlerinin başında gelen masallarda sembol dili dikkati çeken bir unsurdur. Sembol diliyle anlatılan ve de halk yaşamının aynası olan bu önemli tür, asırlar boyu kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılarak bugünlere kadar gelmiştir. Bu önemli sembolik anlatımlardaki kahramanlar, çeşitli sebeplerle evden ayrılarak yola çıkarlar. Kahramanların, kimi zaman uzun, kimi zaman kısa süreli bu göç edişleri onların yeni bir benlikle geri dönüşlerinin habercisidir. Masal kahramanlarının yolculukları onların manevî anlamda büyümelerine vesile olur. Bu çalışmada masal kahramanlarının yolculuk serüvenlerinin izi sürülürken bu süreç içinde geçirdikleri evreler ve kahramanların yolculuk sonunda ulaştıkları yeni benlikleri gözler önüne serilecektir. Ayrıca, masal kahramanlarının benlik yolculuklarıyla benzerlikler gösteren olgunluk süreçleri üzerinde durulacaktır.
