Breaking of identity or darkening of consciousness

Abstract

One of the dynamic problems and perhaps most important one of to- days Turkish society should be the problem of identity. From a sociologi- cal perspective, the issue of identity has an attribute associated with the ethnic structure, the group decomposition and the standard culture. The- refore, it represents an area which should be given priority. In recent years, the comprehension of the nation-state and nationa- lism of the Kemalist system for the phenomenon of turkishness has ben placed in the public agenda with the wide range of critical perspectives. Similarly the unique perspectives of Islam has gained intensity when the process of the secularism has addressed to the phenomenon of religion within the framework of a positivist understanding. We witness that important stages are emerging when we discuss the reflections of the Kemalist phenomenon in the Turkish society with its uni- que dimensions. It can be fixed with all echelons what they should be.

Özet

Günümüz Türk toplumunun dinamik sorunlarından biri, belki de en önemlisi kimlik sorunu olsa gerek. Sosyolojik açıdan kimlik konusu etnik yapı, grup ayrışımı ve standart kültürle bağlantılı bir niteliğe sahiptir. Bu nedenle, üzerinde önemle durulması gereken bir alanı temsil eder. Son yıllarda Kemalist sistemin, Türklük olgusuna yönelik ulus-dev- let ve milliyetçilik anlayışı geniş çapta eleştirel bakış açılarıyla kamuoyu- nun gündeminde yerini almıştır. Aynı şekilde, laiklik süreci de din olgusu- nu pozitivist bir anlayış çerçevesinde ele alması karşısında, İslamın ken- dine özgü bakış açılarının yoğunluk kazanmasına yol açmıştır. Kimlik olgusunun Türk toplum yapısında cereyan eden akışını kendi- ne özgü boyutlarıyla tartışma alanı içine aldığımızda önemli aşamala- rın ortaya çıktığına tanık olmaktayız. Bunların neler olabileceği tüm sıra- lanmalarıyla ele alınabilinir.
