Abstract

This study deals with Bosnia and Herzegovina as a distinctive region in many aspects in Balkan geography. The distinctive feature of the study is that it reflects both the personal observations and the professional formation of the author. Beside this, the main point that the study focuses on is the cultural boundaries and contradictions, which ultimately formed many events in history such as the Conquest, Berlin Conference and lastly the Srebrenica Massacre. This historical ethnie is such various that its roots make the researcher go back not only to the era of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome but also to the Turanian and Slavic clans who went beyond Danube and Carpathian Mountains and arrived the region. And finally, the post-Ottoman era of the region is also very complicated and interesting with its traditional and modern periods.
