Abstract

Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that is produced in humans by a variety of cells including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, macrophages, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells or recombinant DNA techniques. Since it stimulates the proliferation of neutrophils, G-CSF has been used for the amelioration of chemotheraphy-induced neutropenia or other neutrophenic conditions. Several cutaneous reactions have been reported due to the use of G-CSF. We present a case with AML to emphasize that G-CSF administration may lead to atypical bullous pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) by stimulatory effect of AML.
