Abstract
Acute infantile hemorrhagic edema (AIHE) is considered to be an uncommon form of cutaneous vasculitis, occurring in children under two years of age. It is characterized by fever, purpuric ecchymotic lesions located symmetrically on the face and extremities, and subcutaneous inflammatory edema. Infections, drugs and immunization have been considered as triggering factors. The disease is self-limiting and has a benign clinical course. Here, an eight-month-old boy diagnosed as AIHE, because of the fever, rosette-shaped ecchymotic plaques on the face and extremities, and edema on the dorsum of the hands and feet, is presented. Our purpose was to emphasize that AIHE should also be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with purpuric rashes.
Özet
Akut infantil hemorajik ödem (AİHÖ) genellikle iki yaş altında, nadir olarak izlenen bir lökositoklastik vaskülittir. Ateş, yüzde ve ekstremitelerde simetrik yerleşen purpurik ve ekimotik lezyonlar, subkutan inflamatuar ödemle karakterizedir. Enfeksiyonlar, ilaçlar, aşılar tetikleyici faktörler olarak göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Hastalık kendini sınırlar ve iyi klinik seyre sahiptir. Burada ateş, yüzünde ve ekstremitelerinde rozet benzeri ekimotik plaklar, el ve ayaklarında ödem nedeniyle AİHÖ tanısı alan sekiz aylık erkek hasta sunulmuştur. Amacımız purpurik döküntülü hastaların ayırıcı tanısında AİHÖ’nünde akılda tutulması gerektiğini vurgulamaktır
