Politeness Strategies in Oral Communication

Abstract

This article, which focuses on the subject of politeness, first introduces the concept of linguistic politeness as introduced by Brown/Levinson and Goffmann respectively; and then, making use of the discourse examples from the juvenile court, analyzes examples of linguistic politeness in Turkish in the context of functional pragmatics. Abstrakt: In diesem Artikel geht es um die Erfassung des Phänomens Höflichkeit und dessen Realisierung im Türkischen. Nach einer kurzen Darlegung der Modelle von Brown/Levinson und Goffman wird anhand authentischer Transkriptausschnitte die sprachliche Realisierung von Höflichkeit im Türkischen aus funktional-pragmatischer Perspektive untersucht

Özet

Bu çalışmada nezaket konusu ele alınmış olup, nezaket araştırmalarına konu olan Brown/Levinson ve Goffman “modeli” kısa olarak tanıtıldıktan sonra, gençlik mahkemesi yardımından kesitlerle ve söylem-eylembilim yöntemi ile nezaketin Türkçede dile yansımaları ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır
