Abstract

Infiltrative blockade seems to be a simple, safe and efficient method in controlling postoperative pain. The goal of the current study is to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of bupivacaine on postoperative analgesia. Forty ASA physical status I-II patients undergoing elective varicoselectomy were included into the study. Patients were randomly divided into two groups of 20 patients. At the end of the operation, before the wound closure patients in BUP I received 20 mL of bupivacaine hydrochloride 0.50 % and those in BUP II received 20 mL of bupivacaine 0.25 % via infiltration into the fascia and subcutaneous tissue. Postoperative pain was assessed by visual analog scale (VAS) during the 1., 15., 45., 60. minutes and 2., 6., 12., 24. hours postoperatively. Supplementary analgesics (meperidine 1 mg kg-1 intramuscular) were applied to the patients with VAS values higher than 4. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups according to the demographic-hemodynamic data and duration of the surgery. Postoperative pain scores at 1., 15., 45. minutes and 6. hours were determined higher in BUP II than BUP I (p

Bu çalışmanın amacı; farklı konsantrasyonlardaki bupivakain'in postoperatif analjezik etkinliğini araştırmaktır. ASA I-II sınıflamasında 40 elektif varikoselektomi hastası çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastalar rasgele 20 hastalık iki gruba ayrıldı. Cerrahinin sonunda cerrahi kesi kapatılmadan önce BUP I grubuna 20 mL % 0.5 bupivakain hidroklorid, BUP II grubuna 20 mL % 0.25 bupivakain hidroklorid cilt altı ve fasiyaya infiltre edildi.
