Abstract
Metachromatic leukodystrophy is a progressive demyelinating neurological disorder caused by deficient activity of the enzyme arylsulphatase A. In patients with metachromatic leukodystrophy, general anesthetic management should be carefully implemented in consideration of the potential risk of aspiration and airway complications due to poor pharyngeal muscle control and oral secretions. Here we aimed to report our anesthetic management of a pediatric patient with metachromatic leukodystrophy.
