Abstract

Aim: We aimed to compare two different anesthetic techniques (total intravenous anesthesia and inhalation anesthesia) with respect to their effects on trace elements.Material and Method: Patients were randomly allocated into two groups. After standart anesthesia induction; anesthesia was maintained with total intravenous anesthesia with 50 % Oz/NzO mixture and propofol infusion in Group TIVA (n=18) or inhalation anesthesia with 6 % desflurane, and 50 % 02/N20 mixture in Group INH (n=17). In collected blood samples plasma zinc, copper, and aluminium levels were analyzed preoperatively and at postoperative 1st, 24th, and 72nd hours.Results: In Group TIVA, Zn+ levels at postoperative 24. and 72. hours decreased significantly when compared with preoperative levels (p=0.006 and 0.001, respectively), and postoperative 1. hour Cu++ levels decreased significantly, and 24. and 72. hour Cu++ levels decreased highly significantly relative to preoperative levels (p=0.006, and p=

Özet

Amaç: İki farklı anestezi tekniğini (total intravenöz anestezi ve inhalasyon anestezisi) eser elementler üzerine olan etkileri açısından kıyaslamayı amaçladık.Gereç ve Yöntem: Hastalar randomize olarak iki gruba ayrıldı. Standart anestezi indüksiyonunu takiben anestezi idamesi Grup TIVA olgularda (n=18) % 50 O2/N2O karışımı ve propofol infüzyonu olarak total intravenöz anestezi ile; Grup INH olgularda (n=17) % 50 O2/N2O karışımı ve % 6 desfluran inhalasyonu ile sağlandı. Preoperatif, postoperatif 1., 24. ve 72. saatlarde alınan kan örneklerinde plazma çinko, kurşun ve alüminyum seviyeleri analiz edildi.Bulgular: Grup TIVA da postoperatif 24. ve 72. saatte Zn+ seviyeleri preoperatif değerlere göre azaldı (p=0.006, p=0.001).
