GÖZE MİL ÇEKME MOTİFİNİN KÖROĞLU DESTANINA YANSIYIŞ ŞEKLİ

Abstract

Epics, as the beginning forms of the world literature, have tremendous effects on people’s lives and their values. The Epic of Koroglu is one of the most important and distinguished epic poem in Turkish literature and this research reveal “mil çekme” (to blind somebody with a hot iron) as a way of penalty and it has consequences throughout the whole epic poem. “Mil çekme” incident made Rovsen, the epic hero, full of revenge and this incident itself is the remarkable subject matter and the trigger of the story. Blinding the granddad’s eyes with a hot iron is actually the cause of how Rovsen became the epic hero and also Kırat, another important figure in the epic appeared.

Özet

Bütün dünya edebiyatlarının başlangıç eserleri olan destanların milletlerin hayatındaki yeri ve önemi büyüktür. Bu çalışmada Türk dünyasının en seçkin ve önemli destanlarından biri olan Köroğlu Destanı’nda bir ceza şekli olarak göze mil çekme ve bu hadisenin destandaki olaylara yansıyış şekli üzerinde durulacaktır. Destan kahramanı Rövşen’de büyük bir intikam duygusunun oluşumuna sebebiyet veren göze mil çekme, destandaki olayları tetikleyen önemli bir motif olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Dedenin gözlerinin kör edilişi destan kahramanı olan Rövşen’in ve yine destanın önemli bir unsuru olan Kırat’ın yetişmesine vesile olmuştur.
