Synthetic access to some new benzothiazole-based 1,3,4-thiadiazole and1,3-thiazole derivatives

Abstract

1-(Benzothiazol-2-yl)-3-phenylthiourea2was prepared and treated with hydrazonoyl chlorides3a{etoyield the corresponding 5-(benzothiazol-2-ylimino)-1,3,4-thiadiazole derivatives6a{e, respectively. Reaction of thethiourea derivative2with ethyl 2-chloro-3-oxobutanoate9afforded the corresponding 2-(benzothiazol-2-ylimino)thiazole-5-carboxylate derivative11. The newly synthesized heterocyclic derivatives were con rmed from their elemental andspectral analyses.
