The concept of disaffiliation in Robert Castel

Abstract

In this article devoted to Robert Castel, we are interested in the concept of disaffiliation that the author preferred to that of exclusion. Through this concept, Robert Castel shows us that there is a similarity of positions between the vagabondsof pre-industrial societies, the proletarians of capitalist societies and the precariouspopulations of liberal societies, and the disaffiliated are the outcome of a processwhose origin should be sought at the center of societies. Thus, disaffiliation pointsout a situation in which these individuals find themselves discarded from the networks of the production of wealth and social recognition.

Robert Castele adanan bu makalede yazarın dışlanmaya tercih ettiği mensubiyet yitimi kavramı ele alınmaktadır. Bu kavram aracılığıyla Robert Castel bize sanayiöncesi toplumların serserileri, sanayi toplumlarının proleterleri ve günümüzün liberaltoplumlarının prekaryası arasında bir benzerlik olduğunu göstererek mensubiyetiniyitirmişliğin bir sürecin sonucu olduğunu ve kökeninin toplumların merkezinde aranması gerektiğini belirtmektedir.
