Osmanlı Donanmasının Bir "Seyir Defteri" ve XVIII. Yüzyıl Osmanlı Denizciliğine İlişkin Bazı Gözlemler

Abstract

The Ottoman Navy used to cruise from spring to autumn in the Mediterranean every year. The purpose of these cruises that continue long 7 months were protect the people who live on the islands and shores belonged Ottoman territorial waters and the trade from attack of the pirates and enemy ships in this waters. In this article will have been examined record about the Mediterranean Cruise of the Ottoman Navy in 1775-1776 that it exist in the Ottoman Archives of the Prime Ministry. So that, it is intended to reach some results about the Ottoman sovereignty and sea power in the Mediterranean in the last quarter of the XVIII. century.

Özet

Osmanlı donanması her yıl ilkbahardan sonbahara kadar Akdeniz'e sefere çıkardı. Yedi ay kadar süren bu seferin amacı Osmanlı sularındaki ada ve kıyılarda yaşayan halkı ve bu sularda gerçekleşen ticareti deniz haydutlarının ve düşman gemilerinin saldırılarından korumaktı. Bu çalışmada Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivi nde bulunan ve Osmanlı donanmasının 1775-1776 yıllarında gerçekleştirdiği Akdeniz seferinin kayıtlarını incelenecek. Böylece, XVIII. yüzyılın son yarısında Akdeniz'de Osmanlı hakimiyeti ve deniz gücü ile ilgili bazı sonuçlara varılması amaçlandı.
