A study on the costs of agricultural work accidents and occupational illnesses in Türkiye

Özet

İnsan hayatı her şeyden daha önemli ve değerlidir. Bir insanın işgücüne katılması için gereken süre ile eğitimi ve yetişmesi için harcanan para hesaplanamaz boyutlardadır. Bir iş kazasının veya meslek hastalığının yol açtığı ekonomik kayıp, bu kazayı önlemek için yapılan harcamalarla kıyaslanmayacak ölçüde yüksek olmaktadır. Bu çalışma ile özellikle tarım sektörü ve diğer sektörlerdeki iş kazası ve meslek hastalıklarının ekonomide yol açtığı kayıplar ortaya konularak, bu konuda önlem almanın gereği ve önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır. Tarım sektöründe ortalama kaza maliyeti 7.250$, diğer sektörlerde 3.996$, sektörler ortalamasında 4.011$ bulunmuştur. Buna göre, bir tarımsal kazanın maliyetin diğer sektörlerdeki kaza maliyetinden %81 daha fazla olduğu ortaya konmuştur.

Abstract

Human life is very important and valuable of all things. The needed duration of a person to join labor-force, education and upbringing costs are not estimated. The loss of value that an occupational accident or illness caused is so high that it can not be compared with preventing cost. With this study, it is aimed to emphasize the importance and necessity of taking precautions by the way of putting forth the economic costs caused of occupational accidents and illnesses especially in agricultural and other sectors. The average cost of occupational accident for agricultural sector has been found $7.250, $3.996 for other sectors and $4.011 for whole sectors. As a result, an agricultural occupational accident costs 81% more than other sectors.
