Validity and reliability study of the leisure satisfaction scale (LSS) into Turkish

Abstract

The aim of the study was “Validity and Reliability Studyof the Leisure Satisfaction Scale’s Short Form (LSS)into Turkish”. First sample of the study were consistof 2 sport scientists and linguistic scientist who didfirst translation and back translation methods. Secondsample of the study were comprise of 29 people whohave writing and speaking skills in both languages. Thelast sample of the study consists of 101 people whoseages change from 15 to 54. Scale contains six sub- dimensions which named Psychological, Socioligical,Physical, Educational, Relaxation and Aesthetic, andincludes 24 items. For reliability studies test – retestcoefficents and content validty coefficents wasidentified. In validity study, construct validity wascarried out. The data of the study were analized bycomputer packet program. According to result of thestudy, it was found that Turkish translation of the LSSreliabilited and valideted.

Özet

Çalışmanın amacı Beard ve Ragheb (1980) tarafındangeliştirilen (uzun form) ve 1992 yılında kısa formolarak yeniden düzenlenen Leisure SatisfactionScale/LSS (Serbest Zaman Doyum Ölçeği/SZDÖ)’inkısa formunun Türkçe dil geçerlik ve güvenirliğininyapılmasıdır. Çalışmanın ilk bölümündeki örneklemini,İngilizce ve Türkçe konuşma ve yazma becerisinesahip 2 spor bilimci, 1 dil bilimci, ikinci örneklemi iseyine İngilizce konuşma ve yazma becerisine sahip 29kişi oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın üçüncü örnekleminiise, Denizli şehir merkezinde yaşayan yaşları 15-54arasında değişen 101 kişi oluşturmaktadır. SZDÖ,Psikolojik, Eğitimsel, Sosyal, Fiziksel, Rahatlama veEstetik olmak üzere altı alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır.Ölçeğin güvenirliği test–tekrar test yöntemi güvenirlikkatsayılarına, iç tutarlılık değerlerine dayanılarak yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin geçerliliği için yapı geçerliliğinebakılmıştır. Sonuçlar doğrultusunda, ölçeğin Türkçeyeuyarlamasının geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğubulunmuştur.
