Investigation of Social Support Perception of Female Refugees Residing Compulsorily in Afyonkarahisar

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the social support perception of female refugees residing compulsorilyin Afyonkarahisar. The population of the study consists of 87 female refugees residing compulsorily inAfyonkarahisar selected on the basis of criterion sampling which is one of the purposive samplingmethods. As a means of data collection, General Information Form which includes the demographiccharacteristics of women who seek asylum and Revised Parental Social Support Scale , proven tobe valid and reliable, which was developed by Kaner (2010) were used. In conclusion, no statisticaldifference was found between existence of social support and satisfaction by the social support scoresaccording to the women s period of residence, number of children, age and level of education.

Özet

Araştırma, Afyonkarahisar ilinde zorunlu ikamet eden sığınmacı kadınların sosyal destekalgılarının incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu; amaçlı örneklemeyöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen, Afyonkarahisar ilinde zorunlu ikamet eden87 sığınmacı kadın oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak sığınmacı kadınlarındemografik özelliklerinin yer aldığı Genel Bilgi Formu ve Kaner (2010) tarafından geliştirilen ve geçerlikgüvenirliği yapılan Yenilenmiş Anne-Baba Sosyal Destek Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucundaAfyonkarahisar ilinde zorunlu ikamet eden sığınmacı kadınların Türkiyede bulunma süresine, çocuksayısına, yaşlarına ve öğrenim durumlarına göre; sosyal destek varlığı ve sosyal destekten memnuniyetpuanları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmamıştır.
