Comparison of Translucency in Polished Composite Resins According to Cielab and Ciede Color Systems

Abstract

Background: The purpose of this in vitro study is to compare the translucency values of three different composite resins, which are applied two different polishing systems, by thermal cycling according to two different color systems. Methods: 60 disc-shaped composite materials (Tetric N-Ceram, Escom 100, Filtek 3M-ESPE Bulk-Fill) were divided into three groups (n=20) and samples were subdivided according to two polishing systems (Sof-Lex, Optrapol) (n=10). Translucency values were determined by measuring according to the CIELAB(L*a*b) and CIEDE 2000 color systems before and after the thermal cycle (10,000 cycles). Amaç: Bu in vitro çalışmanın amacı, iki farklı polisaj sistemi uygulanan üç farklı kompozit rezinin iki farklı renk sistemine göre termal döngü işlemine tabii tutularak translüsensi değerlerini karşılaştırmaktır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: 60 adet disk şeklindeki kompozit materyaller (Tetric N-Ceram, Escom100, Filtek 3M-ESPE Bulk- Fill) üç gruba ayrıldı (n=20) ve her gruptaki örnekler iki polisaj sistemine (Sof-Lex, Optrapol) göre alt gruplara ayrıldı (n=10).
