SUBJECTIVE APPROACHES IN ART IN THE FOCUS OF THE CONCEPT OF CHILDHOOD

Abstract

In this study called “Childhood As The Subject In The Construction Of Episodic Memory In The Plastic Arts”, the reflections of the relation between personal memory and childhood on art action tried to be analyzed with the subjective attitude of creation through selected examples. It is possible to view the action of art which is a subjective process, through the expressions of traces of personal memory nourished by moments and memories. In the first section of this review, opinions and related concepts about a moment and memory as personal memory reflections are mentioned. While there are various perspectives from the fields psychology, philosophy and art about the construction of personal memory of moments and memories, the data related to the dynamic and continuous, conscious or implicit existence of this construction in art is such as to support the focus of this article. In the second section following this topic that the concept of childhood as a creative act in art is examined, the views about childhood period in the focus of personal memory are evaluated. The questions about the role and quality of the play and toy in shaping this period, make a formation and internal adjustment visible beyond childhood and emerge in artistic creativity. The last section which deals with the artist’s reading, analyzes the traces of the basic formation and arrangement of childhood through selected works of art, and includes examples about the construction of episodic memory. When the subjective approaches in the focus of the concept of childhood are evaluated, we see that the message of work of art offers to the viewer the possibilities of remembering their own past. It is concluded that the potentials of encountering special, unique or similar lived moments exist in processes which re-established with plastic works between the artist and the viewer.

“Plastik Sanatlarda Anısal Belleğin İnşasında Konu Olarak Çocukluk” adlı bu çalışmada, genel olarak kişisel bellek ve çocukluk ilişkisinin sanat eylemine yansımaları seçilen örnekler üzerinden yaratımın öznel tavrı ile incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Öznel bir süreç olan sanat eylemine, kişisel bellek izlerinin an ve anılardan beslenen ifadeleri üzerinden bakmak mümkündür. Bu inceleme, ilk bölümde kişisel bellek yansımaları olarak bir an ve anı üzerine görüşlere ve ilgili kavramlara değinmektedir. Anlar ve anıların kişisel belleği inşasına dair psikoloji, felsefe ve sanat alanlarından çeşitli bakış açılarına rastlanırken, sanatta bu inşanın dinamik ve devamlı, bilinçli ya da örtük mevcudiyetine ilişkin veriler bu yazının odağını destekler niteliktedir. Bu konuyu takip eden; sanatta yaratıcı edim olarak çocukluk kavramının incelendiği ikinci bölümde, kişisel belleğin odağındaki çocukluk dönemine ait görüşler değerlendirilmiştir. Oyun ve oyuncağın bu dönemi biçimlendirişindeki rolüne ve niteliğine yönelik sorgulamalar, çocukluk dönemi ötesi bir biçimleniş ve iç düzenlenişi görünür kılmakta ve sanatsal yaratıcılıkta ortaya çıkmaktadır. Sanatçı okumalarının ele alındığı son bölüm, çocukluğun temel biçimleniş ve düzenleniş izlerini seçilen eserler üzerinden çözümlemekte, anısal belleğin inşasına dair örneklere yer vermektedir. Çocukluk kavramı odağındaki öznel yaklaşımlar değerlendirildiğinde, eserin iletisinin izleyiciye kendi geçmişini anımsama olasılıkları sunduğunu görmekteyiz. Yaşanmış özel, biricik, ya da benzer anlar ile karşılaşma potansiyellerinin sanatçı ve izleyici arasında plastik eserlerle yeniden kurulduğu süreçlerin var olduğu sonucuna varılmaktadır.
