Abstract
The albums in the Topkapi Palace Museum Library with the number2152,2153,2154, and 2160 are ascribed to Muhammed Siyah Kalem. The miniatures of Siyah Kalem were first introduced at the Munich Exhibition in 1910 and research in the field started when Ernst Kühnel immediately after the First World War published miniaturesfrom the 2153 numbered album. The album numbered 2153 is known as the Fatih Album because Tahsin Öz, who was the director of the Topkapi Palace Museum in that period, named it so because of the presence of two miniatures about Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Since there is limited academic knowledge on the miniatures they themselves are the primary sources for any academic research. Therefore the meaning, style and form of every description will be an important step towards an inclusive analysis of the album.
