POSITIVISM Its Development in History and Its Influence on Sociological Thought

Abstract
Positivism, which generally accepts only the facts as knowable, has influenced all disciplines, especially the natural sciences. In this article, the Western world s first representatives of Positivism, which is dominant since it first appeared in socal studies, its historical development, and the Renaissance and Reform movements that provided the ground for the concept to appear will be mentioned as well as the Enlightenment period.

En genel anlamı ile sadece olguları bilinebilir olarak kabul eden Pozitivizm, başta doğa bilimleri olmak üzere tüm bilim alanlarını etkilemiştir. Bu makalede sosyal bilimler alanında ortaya çıktığı ilk günden beri egemen olan Pozitivizmin Batı dünyasındaki ilk temsilcilerini, tarihsel gelişimini ve bu gelişim sürecinde kavramın ortaya çıkışına zemin hazırlayan Rönesans, Reform hareketlerine ve bunlara paralel olarak Aydınlanma dönemine değinilecektir.
