Abstract

Purpose: To determine the effect of vitamin D in the pathophysiology of central serous chorioretinopathy. Material-Methods: The study included 30 patients diagnosed with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) with optic coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus fl uorescein angiography (FFA) (group 1) and an age and gender-matched healthy control group (group 2). The vitamin D levels of both groups were examined. Results: There was no signifi cant difference between the groups in respect of age or gender (p>0.05, p>0.05, respectively). Vitamin D levels were determined as 20.16 ±7.03 ng/ml in group 1 and 28.56±6.59 ng/ml in group 2. The mean vitamin D level of group 1 was determined to be statistically signifi cantly lower than that of group 2 (p
