The Importance Of Balaban Khan In Delhi Turkish Sultanate

Abstract

In this study, the role and importance of Balaban Khan in Delhi Turkish Sultanate was examined. During the years of 1266-1287, Balaban Khan reigned in the Delhi Turkish Sultanate. Although he was previously brought as a slave to the Delhi Turkish Sultanate, he later became the top administrator of the state. Balaban Khan provided peace and security within the state. He protected the Indian sub-continent as much as possible from the Mongol attacks All this shows that Balaban Khan is an important statesman and soldier

Bu çalışmada Balaban Han'ın Delhi Türk Sultanlığı'ndaki rolü ve önemi irdelenmiştir. Balaban Han 1266-1287 yılları arasında Delhi Türk Sultanlığı'nı yönetmiştir. Köle olarak getirilmiş olduğu Delhi'de hükümdarlığa kadar yükselmesi, devlet içinde düzen ve asayişi sağlaması ve Hindistan Alt-Kıtası'nın Moğol saldırılarından mümkün olduğunca az etkilenmesini başarması Balaban Han'ın önemli bir devlet adamı ve asker olduğunu göstermektedir
