The Book Concept in the Islamic World and the Emergence of Writing Methodology

Abstract

After a short span of time from the emerge of Islam, the tradition of the written transfer has replaced the tradition of the oral transfer partially. The concept of “Book” has appeared in the Islamic world because of several factors like the transition to sedentary life style, the raise of Islamic civilisation, the spread of writing in arabic language, and gotten a respectable position.In this article, it has been dealt with the concept of book in Arabic language which had become the scientific language of Islamic world during Mediaeval Period, in this process which has begun with the word “Book” occuring some words which mean book like Mushaf, Ta’lîf, Tasnîf and the beginning of the literature activities. In this period the methodology of the literature, the method of composition which illustrates Islamic culture completely has been improved.From the point of view of the extant works it has been focused on how to occur the system of the composition in the books, the origins of the parts like Hamdala, Salvala, Amma Ba’d and how these expressions have been emerged. At the same time it has been highlighted how to be used in the literary works

İslâmiyetin ortaya çıkışından kısa sayılabilecek bir süre sonra Araplarda sözlü aktarım geleneği yerini kısmen de olsa yazılı aktarıma bırakmış, yerleşik hayata geçiş, İslam medeniyetinin yükselmesi ve yazının yaygınlaşması gibi etkenlerle İslam dünyasında kitap kavramı ortaya çıkmış ve saygın bir yer kazanmıştır. Bu makalede Ortaçağ boyunca İslam dünyasının bilim dili olmuş Arapçada kitap kavramı, kitap kelimesi ile başlayan bu süreçte mushaf, telif, tasnif gibi kitap anlamına gelen kelimelerin ortaya çıkışı ve İslamiyet'te yazın faaliyetlerinin başlangıcı ele alınmıştır. Bu süreçte herşeyi ile İslam kültürünü yansıtan bir de yazma metodolojisi, inşa/kompozisyon yöntemi gelişmiştir. Günümüze ulaşan eserlerden yola çıkarak kitaplardaki İnşa düzeninin oluşması, standart bir kompozisyon düzeni içinde yazılmış eserlerde Besmele, Hamdele, Salvele Emmâ ba'd gibi kısımların kökenleri, ortaya çıkışları ve eserlerde nasıl kullanıldıkları üzerinde durulmuştur
