Abstract
One subject to be considered in breeding programs is the evaluation of changes in yield and quality levels of candidate or registered varieties under varying environmental conditions. For this purpose, the twenty cotton genotypes were tested at 4 different locations of Aegean Region in 2000. The stability parameters such as regression coefficient and deviations from regression were evaluated for seed cotton yields of genotypes. The genotype x environment interaction was found to be significant. Nazilli M 503 (93-7) genotype had the most adaptation ability according to seed cotton yield, regression coefficient and deviations from regression. The Aegean Region's standard cotton cultivar's, Nazilli 84 S, was considered as the group of mid-adaptation to favorable conditions whereas Carmen had the best adaptation to unfavorable conditions.
