Abstract
Disease screening caused by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in lettuce grown in greenhouse was performed in villages especially in Lapseki, Ayvacık, Biga, Bayramiç and central of Çanakkale. Sixty three greenhouses were screened during the field surveys and it was found that 52 and 4 out of 63 greenhouses were infested with S. sclerotiorum and S. minor, respectively. Variation in the S. sclerotiorum population was established with mycelial compatible grouping (MCG) in 14 isolates; according to the in vitro studies two different mycelial groups, one is consisting of 3 isolates and the other is 6, were found. No mycelial MCG was found amoung the five isolates of S. minor proving that all were vegetatively different. This result probably indicates that most of the Sclerotinia isolatesisolated from lettuce are vegetatively distinct from each other. Although it is thought that the pathogen is adapted to cool wheather, it is also seen in the next crops planted in early spring, such as green beans and cucumber, and causes crop loss.
Gezilen 63 seranm sadece 4 adetinde (% 6.3) S. minor'a. rastlanmıştır. îzolatlar arasındaki genetik varyasyon, miselyal uyum gruplannrn (MUG) saptanmasıyla ortaya konulmuştur. Bu çerçevede S. sclerotiorum'un 14 izolatı içerisinde biri üç, diğeri ise 6 izolat kombinasyonundan oluşan 2 ayrı MUG tespit edilmiştir. S. minor'ua beş izolatı içerisinde herhangi bir MUG'a rastlanmamıştır.
