Abstract
Mustafa Sâtı el-Husrî, (1880-1968), one of the reformist pedagogues in the II. Constitutional Period of the Ottoman Empire, is well-known with his contributions to the education system through his articles published in periodicals, scientific discourses and his book called “Fenn-i Terbiye”. Under the influence of famous French educator H. Spencer’s (1820-1903) typology on physical, mental and moral education, he considered education as an individual and psychological phenomenon and supported it with psychological data. He regarded education as the main solution to the problem of backwardness in the Ottoman Empire, therefore carried out both theoretical and practical services. In this context, he had considerable impact on our education system through teachers whom he had mentored in Darulmuallimîn (Teacher Training School) as well as his writings, even after he had left the country.
Özet
Mustafa Sâtı el-Husrî (1880-1968), Osmanlı Devleti'nin II. Meşrutiyet yıllarında, eğitime hizmetleri, süreli yayınlardaki makaleleri, ilmî tartışmaları ve Fenn-i Terbiye kitabıyla dönemin tanınmış reformist pedagoglarından biridir.
