OPINIONS CONCERNING ACADEMICIANS' INVESTIGATION/ QUERY ASSIGNMENT DIFFICULTIES

Abstract
In this study which is aimed to determine the opinions concerning the academicians' investigation/query assignment difficulties, used case study from the qualitative research designs. The workgroup of the study has been determined with the maximum diversification technique from the purposeful sampling methods. Participants are the 12 academicians from 5 different faculties of Atatürk University who has performed at least one investigation/query assignment. The data of the study has been subjected to content analyze that was obtained with semi-structured interview form. According to the study findings; academicians have a great deal of difficulties with the investigation/query assignment during the beginning and the continuum stages. Academicians feel under great pressure while accomplishing this assignment. Also, academicians indicate that this study makes them hinder their main assignments by emphasising that the investigation/query assignment requires expertness
Özet
Akademisyenlerin inceleme/soruşturma görev zorluklarına ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemeyi amaçlayan bu çalışmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden maksimum çeşitleme tekniği ile belirlenmiştir. Katılımcılar daha önce en az bir defa inceleme/soruşturma görevini yapmış Atatürk Üniversitesinin 5 farklı fakültelerinde görev yapan 12 akademisyenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formuyla elde edilmiş, içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırma bulgularına göre; akademisyenler inceleme soruşturma görevi ile ilgili başlangıç ve süreç aşamasında büyük bir zorluk yaşamaktadırlar. Akademisyenler bu görevi yaparken kendilerini büyük bir baskı altında hissetmektedirler. Ayrıca, akademisyenler inceleme/soruşturma işinin uzmanlık gerektiren bir iş olduğuna vurgu yaparak, bu görevin asıl yapmaları gereken işlerini aksatmakta olduğunu belirtmektedirler
