QUALITY COSTS AND A CASE STUDY AT AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

Abstract

One of the most important issues for today s businesses is an efficient production with the effective use of business resource preproduction, in process and post-production after delivery of products to customer With the increasing competition, the importance of efficient use of resources and quality costs have emerged. Businesses use resources efficiently employing the concept of quality costs; implement the necessary preventive actions for problems which emerge at design, production, sales and after sales or detect problems before they occur. The aim of this study is to analyze an automobile company located at Cukurova region from the perspective of quality cost. For this purpose,Case Study method is used. The data of company is collected by employing interviews with company authorities and then the quality cost data of the company is analyzed. The company has adopted the quality costs within the framework its production structure.

Günümüz işletmelerinin en fazla önem verdikleri konuların başında, işletme kaynaklarının etkin kullanımı ile verimli bir şekilde üretim yapmak yer almaktadır. Artan rekabet ile birlikte, kaynakların etkin kullanımı ve kalite maliyetlerinin önemi ortaya çıkmıştır. İşletmeler, kalite maliyetlerini takip ederek, kaynaklarını etkin şekilde kullanır; tasarım, üretim, satış ve satış sonrası aşamalarda ortaya çıkan ya da çıkması muhtemel problemleri henüz ortaya çıkmadan tespit ederek, gerekli önleyici faaliyetleri uygulayabilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kalite maliyetleri çerçevesinde Çukurova Bölgesinde faaliyet gösteren bir otomotiv işletmesini incelemektir. Bu amaçla Örnek Olay metodu kullanılmıştır. İşletme yetkilileri ile görüşülerek işletmenin sahip olduğu veriler toplanıp, kalite maliyetleri incelenmiştir. İşletmenin kalite maliyetlerini kendi üretim yapılarına uyarlayan bir çerçeve içerisinde ele aldıkları görülmüştür.
