Abstract

Objective: Our aim in this study was to investigate the role of serum inflammatory parameters in diabetes mellitus patients presenting for the first time with the acute coronary syndrome and to bring up the homocysteine debate. Material and Method: A total of 228 patients who underwent coronary angiography with a diagnosis of the acute coronary syndrome were included in the study, 64 of them were patients with type‐2 diabetes mellitus, while 164 of them were the healthy control group. Patients were screened retrospectively and their demographic characteristics and laboratory findings were obtained from their medical records. Amaç: Akut koroner sendrom ile ilk defa başvuran diabetes mellituslu hastalarda serumda enflamasyonu gösteren parametrelerin rolünü araştırmak ve homosistein tartışmasını gündeme getirmek. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya akut koroner sendrom tanısı ile koroner anjiyografi uygulanan toplam 228 hasta alındı. Hastaların 64’ü tip 2 diabetes mellituslu iken, 164’ü tip 2 diabetes mellitus olmayan kontrol grubu idi. Hastalar geçmişe yönelik olarak tarandı ve medikal kayıtlarından demografik özellikleri ve laboratuvar bulguları bulundu.
