Assessment of 1998-2005 Life Science Programs Based on the Views of Teachers

1998-2005 Hayat Bilgisi Ders Programlarının Öğretmen Görüşlerine Göre Değerlendirilmesi (Afyonkarahisar İl Örneği)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the changes arouse with the amendments in the program and make a comparison between the new and the former one. In this study, the objectives, the content, the level of education and the approp; riateness of the size of evaluation in achieving the objectives are evaluated according to teachers' views. 152 primary school teachers working within the city borders of Afyonkarahisar assisted the survey with their views in the process of gathering data. As an outcome of the study, suggestions derived from the findings were also given. According to the t-test scores applied to the findings; teachers' views regarding the program of 2005 has a significance value of .05 when efficacy, content, level of education and evaluation are taken into account. While the teachers working in various schools located in Afyonkarahisar supports the efficacy of the 1998 program with 1.3%, and the 2005 program with 28.9%; they also put forward that the content meets the requirements of the students' interests and needs to such extents as for 1998 1.3%, and for 2005 26.3%. Apart from all, the teachers support the idea that the 1998 program presents the related topic in a lively and enthusiastic manner with a value of 7.9%, and for 2005 31.6%. Finally they aggree that the 1998 program's ability to determine the progress of the students with the help of the measurement and evaluation methods is 9.2% and for 2005, 27.6%.

Özet

Çalışmanın amacı, uygulamaya yeni konulan programın getirdiği değişimleri tespit etmek ve bundan önceki programla karşılaştırmasını yapmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda eğitim-öğretim programlarının amaçlarının geçekleşti-rilmesinde; hedefler, içerik, eğitim durumları ve değerlendirme boyutlarının uygunluğu öğretmen görüşlerine dayalı olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada, Afyon IH Merkezi'nden rastgele seçilen 152 smıf öğretmenine uygulanan anketlerin sonuçları yorumlanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında sonuçlar ortaya konarak öneriler geliştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara uygulanan t testi sonuçlarına göre; 1998 ve 2005 programı kazanımları, içerik, eğitim durumları ve değerlendirme açısından öğretmen görüşleri arasındaki fark 2005 programı lehine .05 düzeyinde anlamlıdır. Afyon İl Merkezi'nde çeşitli okullardaki öğretmenler, 1998 programında davra-nışlann/kazanımlarm öğrenci ihtiyaçlarına uygunluk düzeyini (%1,3), 2005 programında (%28,9) oranında desteklerken; içeriğin öğrenci ilgi ve ihtiyaçlarına uygunluk düzeyini, 1998 programında (%1,3), 2005 programında %26,3 oranında desteklemişlerdir. Yine öğretmenler öğrenilmesi gereken bilgi ve becerileri öğrencinin merakını uyaracak şekilde sunabilme düzeyini, 1998 programında %7,9,2005 programmda %31,6; ölçme ve değerlendirme yöntemleriyle çocuğun gelişimini izleme düzeyini, 1998 programında %9,2, 2005 programında %27,6 olarak desteklemişlerdir.
