Social Activities Primary Schools and the Importance of Music Clubs

Abstract

Music education is not only one of the factors that contributes to formation and development of individuals' artistic life, but is one of the factors that affects their psycho-social development as well. When we take into account primary schools as the initial palaces and most important grounds for general music education, the significance of these schools can be seen easily. Lack of music teachers, equipment hours and difficulties experienced in achieving goals in music lessons all necessitate social activities especially the ones not in music curricula. At this point, music clubs function as a significant ground for students of general music education to develop self-actualization and heighten their level of appreciation of art and level of perception of aesthetics. In this study, we have tried to mention the outlines of the concept of social activities in primary schools and to emphasize the significance of the music clubs within the framework of these social activities.

Müzik eğitimi, bireylerin sanatsal yaşamlarının gelişip olgunlaşmasına katkı sağlamakla birlikte, onların psiko-sosyal gelişimlerini de etkileyen unsurlardan biridir. Genel müzik eğitiminin başlangıç ve en önemli noktası olarak ilköğretim okulları düşünülecek olursa, buralardaki müzik eğitiminin önemi açıkça görülebilir. Öğretmen, araç-gereç, müzik dersinin saatleri vb. yetersizlikler ile derslerdeki hedeflerin istenilen düzeyde gerçekleştirilmesinde yaşanan güçlükler, özellikle ders dışında yapılan sosyal etkinlikleri zorunlu kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda; genel müzik eğitimi alan öğrencilerin kendilerini gerçekleştirmeleri, sanatsal beğeni ve estetik algılama düzeylerini yükseltip geliştirmeleri yönünde Müzik Kulüpleri önemli bir işlev üstlenmektedir. Bu çalışmada, ilköğretim kurumlarındaki sosyal etkinlik kavramı genel hatlarıyla belirtilmeye; bu etkinlikler kapsamındaki Müzik Kulübünün işlevi ve önemi vurgulanmaya çalışılmıştır.
