The State of Teachers of Vocational Towards the Teaching Methods in the Process of Teaching (the Sample of Girls Vocational Lycee, Department of Textile Confection)

Abstract

At present when a lot of countries question the existing educational systems, the basic point to be taken into account is the necessity that more people who are able to solve the problem, create and think abstractly are required in lieu of the traditional educational systems to be bound to create cliched minds. These nations adapting this idea are able to develop their own educational systems to train people who are able to produce their own knowledge, to share what they have acquired with others, to improve their problem solving skills, to transform the knowledge and to question anything instead of getting knowledge without any effort. The efforts of the qualitative development have been continuing in vocational education whose significance is over-emphasized all over the world. Teachers are great of importance in catching up with the quality required which has appropriate skills and in this respect vocational education plays a great role in leading it. The educational strategies and methods the teachers utilize by their teaching programmes influence the quality of teaching, which is all known by everyone. The opinions of 119 teachers who work at Girls Vocational Lycees, The department of Textile Confection in Ankara were applied in this study whose aim is to identify their teaching methods they use in the teaching process. According to the results of the research, it was found that the majority of the teachers used the method of demonstration, ask-answering and experience much more than the others. Also it was concluded that there was no significant difference in terms of the usage of these three methods according to how long they had been working. The last conclusion was that there was a parallelism between the method of problem-solving and how long they had been working.

Özet

Birçok ülkenin uygulamakta olduğu eğitim sistemlerini sorguladığı günümüzde, temel noktayı, kalıplanmış bilgileri yineleyen geleneksel eğitim sistemlerinin yerine, düşünen, yaratan, sorun çözen insanlara daha çok gereksinim duyulması oluşturmaktadır. Bu düşünceyi benimseyen toplumlar verileni almakla yetinmeyen, sorgulayan, bilgiyi transfer edebilen, çözüm üreten, yaratıcı, katılımcı ve paylaşımcı, kendi bilgisini kendisi üretebilen bireyler yetiştirmek için eğitim sistemlerini geliştirmektedir. Her geçen gün önemi daha çok vurgulanan, mesleki eğitimde de niteliksel gelişme çabaları devam etmektedir. Temel amacı, iş hayatının taleplerine uygun becerilere sahip teknik iş gücünü yetiştirmek olan, mesleki eğitimin istenilen niteliği yakalayabilmesinde, eğitim programlarının uygulayıcıları olan öğretmenlerin önemli yeri vardır. Öğretmenlerin eğitim programlarını uygularken seçtikleri öğretim strateji ve yöntemleri öğretimin niteliğini etkilemektedir. Ankara' da bulunan Kız Meslek Liseleri Tekstil Konfeksiyon bölümü atölye ve meslek dersi öğretmenlerinin, öğretme sürecinde kullandıkları öğretim yöntemlerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada, 119 öğretmenin görüşleri alınmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğretmenlerin büyük çoğunluğunun anlatım, yaparak yaşayarak öğrenme, gösterip yapma (demonstrasyon) ve soru-cevap yöntemini ağırlıklı olarak kullandıkları görülmüştür. Anlatım, demonstrasyon ve yaparak yaşayarak öğrenme yöntemlerinin kullanımının öğretmenlerin hizmet sürelerine göre önemli faklılık göstermediği, problem çözme , ve ödül yönteminin kullanımının ise hizmet süresi ile orantılı olarak arttığı belirlenmiştir.
