Language Activities At Preschool Education

Abstract

The pre-school period of a child is a critical one with regard to the development of their language skills. Because the language is an important factor in learning of a child , his or her acqusitions in these ages has been influencing learning activities which follow these years. Accordingly, the pre-school language progreess has been taken seriously and the learning-teaching settings which support the language progress and a stimulative rich surrounding must be prepared. Even though all the educational activities in the pre-school instiutions contribute to the progress of language , the contribution of language activities can’t be underestimated. That’s why the “chapter of language activities” has been provided with different title and names in all pre-school education programs. In Turkey, in the pre-school curriculum which is currently in practise, The Turkish is taken as a seperate educational activity and activities like rigmaroles, finger plays, poetries, riddles, chats, readings the picture books , story telling, mimetic plays , pantomimes , dramatizations and the story-completions are included in the Turkish language activities.

Özet

Okul öncesi yıllar dil gelişimi bakımından kritik dönemdir. Dil, çocuğun öğrenmesinde önemli bir etken olduğu için bu yaşlardaki kazanımlar daha sonraki öğrenmeleri büyük ölçüde etkilemektedir. Bu nedenle okul öncesi yıllarda çocuğun dil gelişimine önem verilmesi, dil gelişimini destekleyici öğret-me-öğrenme ortamlarının, uyarıcı zengin çevrenin hazırlanması gereklidir. Okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında dil gelişimine ve dilin kazanımına tüm eğitim etkinliklerinin katkısı olmakla birlikte dil etkinliklerinin katkısı küçümsenemez. Bu amaçla okul öncesi eğitim programlarının tamamında farklı başlık ve isim altında dil etkinlikleri bölümü düzenlenmiştir. Türkiye'de hâlen uygulanmakta olan okul öncesi eğitim programında; Türkçe ayrı bir eğitim etkinliği olarak ele alınmış ve tekerlemeler, parmak oyunları, şiir, bilmece, sohbet, resimli kitap okuma, öykü anlatma, taklit oyunları, pandomim, dramatizasyon, öykü tamamlama etkinlikleri Türkçe dil etkinlikleri içinde sayılmıştır.
