Abstract

Numerous novels over the years of the War of Independence have been written in Turkish Literature. Most of these novels have similarity to each other. The changes occured in Istanbul immediately after the truce (1918), the difference of the attitude that people struck in the face of the country and society have been processed again in many novels. The two novels we have discussed in this review have focused on the truce period of Istanbul. Yakup Kadri Karaosmanoğlu is a literary figure who in all its details witnessed the truce period. However, Attilâ Ilhan has learned the truce period of Istanbul from the sources. In this case, there is a period to be addressed with two different perspectives.
