The examination of the relationship between the family participation and the level of the academic self-respect of children based on parental view

Aile katılımı ile çocukların akademik benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkinin anne-baba görüşlerine göre incelenmesi

Abstract

In this research, it is aimed to examine the relationship between the family participation activities applied in the pre-school educational institution and academic self-respect of the children in terms of the different variables based on parental view. The working group of the research is composed of the families of 380 children receiving the pre-school education which are affiliated with Bolu Provincial Directorate for National Education in 2011-2012 academic year. Family Participation Scale , Scale of Academic Self-Respect andPersonal Information Form are used to acquire data of the research. As a result of the research, a significant difference is found in the family participation scores of the families in terms of the variables of gender and occu- pation of the mothers. A significant difference is found in the academic self-respect scores of the children according to the perception of the families in terms of the gender variable of the families. When the relationship is examined between the participation level of the families and the academic self-respect of the child-en, it is seen that there is a positive relationship at the medium level. No significant differences are determined in terms of the number of children of families, the ages and educational level of the mothers and fathers, the occupational sta- tus of the fathers, the ages of the children and the genders of the children.

Özet

Bu araştırmada, okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında uygulanan aile katı- lım çalışmaları ile çocukların akademik benlik saygısı düzeyi arasındaki ilişki- nin, anne-baba görüşlerine göre çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesi amaç- lanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılında Bolu İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında eğitim alan 380 çocuğun aileleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin elde edilmesinde,Aile Katılım Ölçeği , Akademik Benlik Saygısı Düzeyi Ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, anne-babaların aile katılım puanlarında, cinsiyet ve annelerin meslek değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir fark bulunmuştur. Anne-baba algısına göre çocukların akademik benlik saygısı düzeyi puanlarında da, cinsiyet değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir fark gözlenmiştir. Aile katılımı ve çocukların akademik benlik saygısı düzeyi arasındaki ilişki incelendiğinde; orta düzeyde, pozitif bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Etkisi araştırılan annebabaların yaşları, çocuk sayısı, eğitim düzeyleri, babaların mesleki durumları, çocukların yaşları ve çocukların cinsiyetleri gibi değişkenlerde ise anlamlı bir fark bulunmamıştır.
