AN INVESTIGATION ON ENCOUNTERED PROBLEMS AND SOLUTION SUGGESTIONS IN THE TEACHING APPLICATION COURSE PROCESS

ÖĞRETMENLİK UYGULAMASINDA KARŞILAŞILAN SORUNLAR VE ÇÖZÜM ÖNERİLERİNE İLİŞKİN BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Abstract

Teaching practice is a course conducted with the cooperation of education faculties and schools. With this course, it is aimed that teacher candidates develop their competencies related to the teaching profession. Teacher candidates' success in the process is evaluated by the teacher and a supervisor as the academic staff. However, many problems encountered in this course's practice are frequently highlighted in related literature. This research is based on investigation of the problems related to this course's practice and the solutions proposed to these problems in the literature. The research problem is as follows; In the teaching practice, it is arranged as encountering problems and what are the suggested solutions to these problems. In this study descriptive research method was used. According to the result of the research, the most frequently recurring problem title of the teaching practice course process was the teacher insufficiency. As a solution proposal to this problem, it was observed that the assignment of the teacher should be based on volunteerism taking into account the professional seniority and experience. In long term, teacher training can be discussed in order to solve the problems encountered in the teaching practice course process. In short term, it may be suggested that in the assignment of the teacher based on her/his professional seniority, experience and volunteerism.

Öğretmenlik Uygulaması, eğitim fakülteleri ve uygulama okullarının işbirliğiyle gerçekleştirilen bir derstir. Bu ders ile öğretmen adayı öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğiyle ilgili yeterliliklerini geliştirmeleri amaçlanmaktadır. Öğretmen adayı öğrencilerin süreçteki başarısı uygulama öğretmeni ve öğretim elemanı tarafından değerlendirilmektedir. Bununla birlikte, uygulamada karşılaşılan sorunlar ilgili alan yazında sıklıkla vurgulanmaktadır. Bu araştırma, öğretmenlik uygulaması ders süreci ile ilgili sorunlar ve bu sorunlara getirilen çözüm önerileri açısından alan yazında yapılan çalışmaların incelenmesine dayanmaktadır. Araştırmanın problem cümlesi; Öğretmenlik uygulamasında sıkça yinelenen sorunlar ve bu sorunlara getirilen çözüm önerileri nelerdir, biçiminde düzenlenmiştir. Nicel tarama yönteminde betimleyici türde yapılan araştırmanın ulaştığı sonuca göre, öğretmenlik uygulaması ders sürecinin en sık yinelenen sorunların başında; uygulama öğretmeni yetersizliği gelmektedir. Bu sorun başlığına çözüm önerisi olarak, öğretmenin mesleki kıdem ve deneyimi dikkate alınarak, gönüllülük esasına dayalı görevlendirme yapılmasının ön plana çıktığı gözlemlenmiştir. Buna göre, öğretmenlik uygulaması ders sürecinde karşılaşılan sorunlara çözüm için uzun vadede, öğretmen yetiştirme ile ilgili süreç, kısa vadede ise, uygulama öğretmeni görevlendirilmesinde mesleki kıdem, deneyim ve gönüllülük esasına dayalı görevlendirme önerilebilir. Ayrıca, süreç paydaşlarının verimli bir işbirliği içinde olmalarının da sorunların çözümünde önemli bir kavram olarak öne çıktığı söylenebilir.
