The comparison of the No neck specimens with the findings of preoperative CTS

No boyunlarda preoperatif BT ve Boyun Disseksiyonu materyallaerinin karşılaştırılması

Abstract

This study was performed in the ENT Clinics of Akdeniz University Medical Faculty between 1992 -1996. We have compared the findings ofpreoperative CT scans with the pathological examinations of the neck the dissection speci-mens of 18 patients with the No necks, suffering from parotid gland carcinomas and larynx carcinomas It is mentioned that the best method for investigating the neck about the lymph node metastatis is the preoperatively perfor-med CT scans. The nodal enlargement, the localisation of the nod, extracapsullar spread, the existence of necrosis in the nodes are the impor-tant criteria for metastasis. In this study we have found that the findings in teh preoperative CT scans of the necks do not show a correlation with the fin-dings of pathological examinations of the necks specmens. As a result, we conclude that the preoperative CT examinations of the neck, is not a valid method in diagonosing the lymph node metastasis in No necks.

1992-1996 yıllan arasında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi K.B.B. ana bilim dalında Larenks Ca, Parotis Ca ta-nısı almış, No boyunlu 18 hastanın preoperatif boyun CT'leri ve boyun disseksiyonu materyalleri karşılaştırılmışım Baş boyun Ca'larda lenf metastaz varlığının preoperatif olarak CT değerlendirilmesinin halen en iyi yöntemlerden biri oldu-ğu söylenmektedir. CT de nodal büyüklük, lenfnodunun yeri, lenfnodunda nekrozun varlığı, ekstrakapsüler yaydım, metas-taz açışımdan önemli kriterlerdir. Biz bu çalışmamızda No boyunlarda, lenfnodu araştırmasında, CT bulgularının, postopratif boyun disseksiyonu materyalle-rinin patolojik bulguları ile bir korelasyon göstermediğini tesbit ettik.
