Serum cholesterol and triglyceride levels in gastric cancer

Abstract

In this study,it was evaluated serum cholesterol and trigly cer ide concentrations of 55 patients wit gastric cancer (adeno carcinoma). Serum cholesterol levels of cancer patients were found to be significantly lower than that of control group .Serum trigly ceride levels ofjthes e patients also decreased compared with the control gruop but it was not statistically significant. When we investigate the groups with respect to the stages, there were not any difference neither between stage III and stage IV nor between these stages and control group. Additionally preoperative groups were not significantly different from the postoperative group and it was not detected any relation between stages and these two parameters.

Özet

Mide- Adeno karsinom tanısı almış 55 hasta ile yakın yaş grubundan 28 sağlıklı kişinin serum kolesterol ve trigliserid konsantrasyonları ölçüldü. Kanserli hastaların serum kolesterol düzeyleri kontrol grubuna göre düşük olup fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlı idi (P 0,05). İleri evreler olan evre III, IV ile kontrol arasında ve her iki evre arasında anlamlı fark bulunamadı (P> 0.05). Ayrıca preoperatif ve postoperatif grubun istatistiksel değerlendirmesinde her iki grup arasında istatistiksel fark bulunamadı (P > 0,05).Serum kolesterol ve trigliserid değerleri ile evre arasında ilişki tespit edilmedi.
