A Rare Side Effect That May Be Due to Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate: Nail Pitting

Tenofovir Disoproksil Fumarata Bağlı Olabilecek Nadir Bir Yan Etki: Yüksük Tırnak

Abstract

Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) is widely used for chronic hepatitis B treatment and is a safe and potent antiviral drug that has high genetic barrier. The TDF therapy is rarely changed due to side effects. The side effects of TDF include nausea, vomiting, hypophosphatemia, elevated creatinine, lactic acidosis, and dermatitis. Nail pitting as a side effect due to the use of TDF has not been found in the literature which we could reach. A case of chronic hepatitis B is presented in this report in which treatment was changed due to nail pitting and nausea in the sixth month of TDF treatment.

Özet

Tenofovir disoproksil fumarat (TDF), kronik hepatit B tedavisinde yaygın kullanılan genetik bariyeri yüksek, güvenilir, potentbir antiviral ilaçtır. TDF tedavisi, yan etki nedeniyle nadiren değiştirilmektedir. TDF’ye bağlı olarak bulantı, kusma, hipofosfatemi, kreatinin artışı, laktik asidoz ve dermatit gibi yan etkilergörülebilir. Ulaşabildiğimiz literatürde TDF kullanımına bağlı biryan etki olarak yüksük tırnak bulunmamaktadır. Bu bildirideTDF kullanımına bağlı bulantı ve yüksük tırnak nedeniyle altıncıayda tedavisi değiştirilen bir kronik hepatit B olgusu sunulmuştur.
