Ethics in Aristoteles

Abstract

To be sure, one of the important sources that feeds some contemporary philosophies of ethics is Aristotelian ethics. Especially his thougths concerning the place of ethics in the distinction of theory and practice are important. The concept of “good” as the aim of life, the distiction between intellectual and character virtues, morals of being middle, and justice as an ethicopolitical virtue are the themes that stand out the most in Aristotelian athics, which could also be considered as the ethics of happiness. Activity of contemplation finds its place as the peak to be reached in Aristotelian Ethics.

Kimi çağdaş etik felsefelerini de besleyen en önemli kaynaklardan biri hiç kuşkusuz Aristotelesçi etiktir. Özellikle onun teori ve pratik ayrımında etiğin yeri hakkındaki düşünceleri önemlidir. Hayatın amacı olarak “iyi” kavramı, düşünce ve karakter erdemleri ayrımı, orta olma ahlâkı ve etikopolitik bir erdem olarak adalet, bir mutluluk etiği şeklinde ele alınabilecek Aristotelesçi Etik’in öne çıkan yanlarıdır. Temaşa etkinliği ise Aristotelesçi Etik’te ulaşılması gereken bir zirve olarak yerini bulur.
