Abstract

The work discussed in the context of this study concerns the evaluation and study of production and forestry of the main plantation species in Morocco, namely the maritime pine and Aleppo pine. Given their significant economic contribution and importance of reforestation, maritime pine and Aleppo pine, have been the subject of several studies. This study showed that: - The variability of environments ecologically, edaphic and topographic influence on the production capacity; - Maritime Pine Mountain is more productive in a humid bioclimate bioclimates in a sub-humid and semi-arid; - Plantations of maritime pine plains not successful on the Atlantic coast where summer temperatures are reduced and where the humidity of the air is relatively strong. Comparing the results of various studies on productivity of the maritime pine plains with the mountain, shows that the variety of plain planted in Morocco on the Atlantic coast is more productive than the mountain variety. We can thus conclude and recommend reforestation of the variety Landes (Atlantic) on the Atlantic coast and variety maghrebiana in the interior. Reforestation efforts in the production of timber and industry in both quality and quantity is dependent on the application of appropriate silvicultural methods (pruning, thinning).
